Wildfire debris was cleared from hillsides in Southern California.

Footage shows personnel from the US Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, working to clear remnants left behind by recent fires in Pacific Palisades.

Authorities said specialised access techniques were used to safely navigate and clear the steep terrain on July 18.

The debris removal is part of a coordinated recovery effort aimed at restoring access and protecting nearby communities.

Highly destructive fires impacted California in January.

The Palisades Fire is said to be the largest wildfire in the region, having scorched over 23,700 acres since it erupted on January 7 in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood, killing at least 12 people.

Reports stated that the Palisades Fire was declared fully contained on January 31.

The Eaton Fire also began on January 7 and burned more than 14,000 acres after burning for 24 days, killing 17 people.
