Two window cleaners rescued 400ft up Raffles City Tower in Singapore
This is the heart-stopping moment a pair of window cleaners were rescued from 400ft up at Raffles City Tower in Singapore.
The distressed workers became stranded on a gondola between the 28th and 29th floors, prompting rescue operations by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) on July 21 at around 11:20 am.
Reports said the suspended platform tipped dangerously while being retracted due to adverse weather conditions, leaving the two trapped.
Upon arrival, emergency responders and firefighters quickly assessed the gondola's stability and checked on the condition of the employees, who were performing routine facade maintenance.
Authorities said: 'Rescuers from the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) also responded to the scene and set up the rescue equipment at level 30 and level 29. The gondola was then secured with safety lines, before a DART rescuer descended onto the gondola to rescue the two workers.'
The heroic rescuer fastened the workers' body harnesses and assisted them in safely entering the building through windows on levels 29 and 30.
Both workers received medical attention from an SCDF paramedic before being transported to Raffles Hospital, where their condition was reported as stable.
