Illegal Israeli settlers torch cars, attack home in occupied West Bank
RAMALLAH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - JULY 22, 2025: Israeli settlers on Tuesday, July 22, set fire to two Palestinian vehicles and attacked homes in separate incidents in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources. Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that a group of Israeli settlers raided the town of Beitin, east of Ramallah, in the early morning hours. The settlers torched two Palestinian-owned vehicles and spray-painted Hebrew slogans on the walls of homes in the area. Despite efforts by local residents to repel the attackers, settlers reportedly escalated their assaults and continued acts of vandalism in the town. In a separate incident, some illegal settlers also attacked a Palestinian home in the town of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah. According to residents, the settlers seized several personal belongings from the house during the raid. Palestinian territories, including the West Bank, have witnessed a sharp increase in settler violence in recent months, often carried out under the protection of Israeli forces. Since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, nearly 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers, the Palestinian Health Ministry said. In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
