Rainstorms induced by Typhoon Wipha flooded streets and stranded vehicles in Ningde City of east China's Fujian Province on Monday. Local authorities issued the highest emergency response for heavy rain as rivers swelled and flood water disrupted traffic in many low-lying parts of the city. Rescuers rushed to drain the water from sewer wells as the water level rose on the street. Typhoon Wipha made its landfall in south China's Guangdong Province on Sunday before moving to northern Vietnam. It has also brought torrential rain to provinces of Hainan, Guizhou, and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Heavy rain is expected to continue in some parts of the provinces on Tuesday and Wednesday although the typhoon’s impact has weakened in the country.
