Civilians trapped in the conflict zone in Syria are facing a dire humanitarian crisis as aid convoys struggle to reach those in need. This story is published in collaboration with @Egab. A ceasefire agreement brokered in southern Syria has brought a fragile calm to Sweida province after eight days of intense fighting, with human rights groups reporting the full implementation of the deal on Monday. Over 1,100 people have been killed and around 128,000 people have been displaced over the past week. The violence between long-time rivals the Druze and the Bedouin drew in Islamist-led government forces, the Israeli military, and other armed factions in Syria. The displaced said they need almost everything from food, water to medical care. Youssef Abu Hasaini, a member with Syria Civil Defence, a humanitarian organization, said they have been trying to get into the conflict zone with supplies. Shotlist: Daraa, Syria - July 20, 2025: 1. We've been trapped for a week with nothing to eat or drink. When we hear gunshots or shelling, we throw ourselves to the ground. It's terror, fear - we're living under the shadow of death. They are both in critical conditions, and we have no medical help."; [SHOT OVERLAYING SOUNDBITE] 3.
