Phoenix, United States - July 23, 2025 07/22/2025 06:06 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix Fire Department press release: Firefighters from Phoenix and Glendale were dispatched to the area of 43rd Ave. and Cactus Rd around 6pm for the reports of a structure fire. Crews arrived and found heavy flames and smoke coming from the interior of a residential home. Firefighters quickly extended multiple hand lines and attacked the flames. During the search and rescue firefighters found an adult male unconscious and not breathing. Unfortunately that individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. One resident (adult female) was transported to the hospital for minor burn injuries. At this time the Phoenix Fire Investigations Task Force is on the scene to conduct investigation. The community assistance program is tending to the needs of the family. There are no reported firefighter injuries. Thank you.
