This is the shocking moment passengers screamed as a police car with sirens blaring crashed into them in Russia.

Dashcam footage from the police vehicle shows it racing through traffic and intersections while responding to an emergency call near Fokino, in Primorsky Krai, on July 21.

As it entered one final intersection, the police car was struck side-on by another vehicle whose driver failed to give way.

The impact sent the police vehicle hurtling into two other cars.

The video then cuts to dashcam footage from one of the vehicles that was hit. Two women are heard screaming as the police car slams into their vehicle, crashing into it along with the car that had caused the initial collision.

Reports said at least four people were injured.

The police said in a statement: 'A traffic police Skoda Octavia vehicle was moving with its siren and its lights on.

'When driving through a controlled intersection, it collided with a Honda Insight, which was entering the intersection and did not give way to the driver of the special vehicle.

'As a result of the impact, the Skoda Octavia was thrown onto a Toyota C-HR and a Toyota Porte.

'Four people were injured. The drivers of three vehicles - Honda Insight, Skoda Octavia, Toyota Porte - and a passenger of the Skoda Octavia.'
