Footage shows thousands of diecast toy cars arranged in a detailed miniature model city at an event in Bangkok.

Hundreds of diecast enthusiasts flocked to Central Ladprao Mall for the Thailand Diecast Expo in Chatuchak on July 17.

Dozens of intricately crafted dioramas were exhibited, complete with miniature cars parked in lots and placed along tiny streets.

Men and women can be seen taking pictures and videos of the miniatures, admiring the wide range of diecast vehicles on display.

One of the highlights of the event was the appearance of Piyalert 'Beer' Baiyoke, a well-known Thai socialite and collector, who opened sales of his exclusive limited-edition diecast models and branded souvenirs under the Top Secret Thailand label.

The Thailand Diecast Expo 2025, officially held from July 19 to 20 at BCC Hall, is the country's largest diecast model and collectibles exhibition. It was organised by Grand Prix International in collaboration with Bangkok Hot Rod and Central Pattana.

Visitors were treated to exclusive Thailand Special Edition releases from leading brands such as BMC, Inno64, D‑Model, Poprace, Tiny, Kyosho, Xcartoys, and Baiyoke's own brand. Among the rare items was a meticulously crafted Exclusive Limited Edition Box Set, with only 120 numbered sets available.

The event also featured hands-on activities including model-building workshops, diorama accessory classes, and panel discussions on collectible investments led by experts like Akara from Spacecraft Art Studio and Aod Rotary.

Diecast toy cars are miniature models created through a die-casting process, where molten metal is poured into moulds to produce highly detailed replicas of vehicles.

The production of diecast cars began in the early 20th century, gaining momentum with brands like Dinky Toys and Tootsietoy. The market reached mainstream popularity in 1968 with the launch of Hot Wheels, followed by notable brands such as Matchbox, Corgi, Tomica, and Maisto.
