Suspect caught on CCTV 'smashing car window to steal bag' in London
A suspect was caught on CCTV allegedly smashing a car window in London to steal a bag.
Footage shows the apparent burglar, wearing a black jacket and a helmet, striking the window of a Tesla parked just outside the luxury Harvey Nichols department store in Knightsbridge on July 16.
The robber was seen approaching the vehicle, appearing to scan the surroundings before breaking the glass.
The car owner said the incident happened around 4:30 pm in broad daylight.
He added: 'The guy used a small object in his hand, similar to a bomb, to throw at the glass until it shattered. He then stole a bag from the car. There was nothing valuable in the bag.
'The thief was wearing a Canada Goose jacket and carrying a branded bag. London is no longer safe.'
Videos taken after the incident show the electric sedan with its rear window shattered.
Authorities said the suspect appeared to be wearing specialised gloves, while local media reported that the object used may have been a small explosive device.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
