The Dorset village of Tolpuddle as hundreds gathered to honour the legacy of the Tolpuddle Martyrs at a festival now firmly established as a national celebration of workers’ rights.

Union members and their leader were in the village for the day people like Paul Nowak, TUC General Secretary who marked and made a speech on the main stage.

The union members marched to the end of the village and back where they then gathered for speeches at the Memorial Cottages and museum grounds to the original martyrs.

The festival also features talks from union leaders, activists, and policy experts, along with workshops, live music, and opportunities to network and learn from the experiences of workers fighting for justice, equality and fairness around the UK and indeed the world.
