This is the shocking moment an entire house was swept away by a flash flood surging through a village in Laos.

Footage shows the wooden property floating on floodwaters after the Khan River burst its banks in Luang Prabang on Wednesday morning.

Authorities said the release of water from the Khan Hydropower Dams also exacerbated the flood. They urged residents to secure their belongings and monitor the water levels closely.

Typhoon Wipha lashed the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and China before pounding Laos with torrential downpours.

Sukanyanee Yawinchan, director-general of the Thai Meteorological Department, said Wipha has been downgraded to a tropical depression and was expected to further weaken into a low-pressure area.
