Police catch giant alligator on family's driveway in Florida
This is the dramatic moment police officers caught a giant alligator on a family's driveway in Florida.
Deputies were called to a home in Lee County on July 12 after a massive beast was spotted lounging in the front yard.
Upon arrival, authorities secured the area and coordinated with a licensed wildlife trapper to safely manage the situation.
Footage shows emergency responders pulling the creature from under the bushes using a rope.
Moments later, rescuers successfully restrained the 9ft intruder and clamped its snout. No injuries were reported during the incident.
Florida has a huge wild alligator population estimated to be as many as 1.3 million. They live in rivers, swamps, ponds, and lakes and often appear in front of humans.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission found that female alligators typically do not grow beyond 10ft, while males can reach even larger sizes. The state record stands at 14ft 3.5 inches.
