Los Angeles, United States - July 27, 2025 07/27/2025 02:09 pm GMT-0700 HOLLYWOOD HILLS WEST, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded Sunday afternoon to a rock slide with injuries on Laurel Canyon Boulevard, just south of Mulholland Drive. Upon arrival, they found a dark-colored sedan that had been struck by falling rocks and debris from the east side wall of the road. The vehicle was traveling northbound when the debris fell. Firefighters observed heavy water flowing from the top of the slide area, and it appears a broken water pipe may have caused the incident. Significant amounts of water were seen on the slide and in the roadway just south of the incident. This water flow appeared to originate from the 8000 block of Woodrow Wilson Drive. One female occupant of the sedan was transported to a local hospital in stable condition for evaluation. One lane of northbound Laurel Canyon Boulevard was closed at the time of the incident. The Los Angeles Police Department was requested at the time of dispatch, but had not yet arrived during the firefighters' response. Crews were deployed to close the lane, assess the slide, and clear the roadway, but no estimated time for repairs has been provided.
