Los Angeles, United States - July 27, 2025 07/27/2025 01:38 am GMT-0700 VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an electrical emergency behind Fire Station 90 on the 16200 block of Waterman Drive. Firefighters discovered power lines hanging from an electrical pole and requested assistance from the Department of Water and Power to repair the downed lines. Shortly after, the LAFD was dispatched to a report of an electrocution near the intersection of Strathern and Haskell Avenue. Crews arrived on the scene to find a man, approximately 45 years old, suffering from third-degree burns to his hands and face. LAFD paramedics transported the man to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries. A captain on the scene indicated that the man was likely attempting to steal wires from the pole, which resulted in his injuries. No further details were provided.
