This is the moment huge chunks of 'soggy noodle-like' hair fell off a woman's head after a botched bleach session in China.

Footage shows the woman sitting in a salon chair as a stylist tries to dry her hair, which appears stringy and spaghetti-like.

Large clumps begin falling out as the damage becomes clear.

Local media reported that the woman paid CNY 350 (GBP 37) for the treatment at a salon in Hubei on July 14.

She later complained that the hairdresser had left bleach on her scalp for too long while he went to work on another client. Though he apologised, he reportedly offered only a free bottle of hair oil as compensation.

The next morning, she experienced severe irritation - her scalp was painful, red, swollen, and covered in lumps.

A medical examination confirmed that she had developed irritant contact dermatitis.

Doctors at Wuhan Sixth Hospital told local media that chemicals such as phenylenediamine, hydrogen peroxide, and amino acids found in hair dyes are common triggers for allergic reactions, including itching, redness, swelling, and even blistering of the face and scalp.

They advised those planning to dye or bleach their hair to always conduct a skin patch test beforehand, use gentle, non-irritating products, and limit bleaching to no more than three times per year to avoid long-term scalp damage.
