Holidaymakers and visitors made way for an emergency at Newquay Harbour on a busy Saturday afternoon. The local RNLI station galvanised into action volunteer crew pinged by pagers, dashing to the station at Newquay harbour, responding to an alert from the Coastguard Agency. The launch of both Newquay RNLI craft was initiated at 3:37pm on the 26th July 2025. A report of an injured woman on a difficult-to-access stretch of beach near Park Head, Cornwall, rugged, spectacular cliff section was received by the Coastguard. A further complication was that the rising tide was fast covering the small beach. The Cornwall Air ambulance touched down above the cliffs and joined a Coastguard cliff top team. It was decided to request the Coastguard 924 Helicopter to assist, which first had to land at Newquay airport to re-fuel, a process of 20 minutes or so. The casualty was subsequently recovered and transferred for relay to the hospital for treatment. Newquay, Cornwall, UK
