Erskine Fire Lake Isabella, Kern County CA WILDFIRE Homes Lost 2 Dead Wildlife
As of 6:00PM Friday evening, officials estimate the size of the #ErskineFire at 30,000 acres with 0% containment. 2 people - residents - have been confirmed dead when they did/would/could not leave their home. 3 firefighters injured.
This video shows overnight operations in the Lake Isabella, Squirrel Mountain Valley and South Lake areas. Many many homes and structures were lost - the estimate is 100 but I believe more than that. Wildlife fled the fire quickly as some firefighters and evacuees were trapped by live power lines down.
Many of these firefighters have been working 24+ hours straight and some will continue into and through the night as additional resources from around the State roll in. The CA Governor has declared a State of Emergency due to this fire.
