Bakersfield, United States - July 27, 2025 07/26/2025 09:50 pm GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found shot and killed in the 900 block of Nimrod Court just before 10 p.m., according to initial reports. Police responded to the scene where they located a white vehicle that had crashed into a parking lot covering and another vehicle. The victim was found next to the vehicle with the door open. Officers began CPR upon arrival, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Shell casings were located near the intersection of Valhalla Drive and Roberta Way. There was no immediate information on a suspect description. The Bakersfield Police Department and Bakersfield Fire Department responded to the incident. Coroner officials identified the victim of the shooting as Landen O’Ryan Worthy, 19, of Bakersfield. The initial shooting reportedly took place in the 4600 block of Roberta Way.
