Residents were terrified as they watched a landslide crash down a mountain.

Debris and boulders cascaded downhill amid a heavy downpour at Kennon Road in Benguet, the Philippines.

Dramatic footage captured by Monet Lumsec shows massive rocks rolling toward the highway, prompting locals to scream in fear on July 28.

No one was reportedly injured in the incident.

On July 26, another massive landslide struck a section of the road, causing flooding beside the newly constructed rock shed in the Camp 6 area.

Thick soil and boulders covered some parts of the two-lane, 33.53-kilometre mountain highway, making it impassable for all types of vehicles.

Despite the rock shed remaining intact, the foundation supporting its entryway from Baguio City was washed out, partially hanging and weakening the structure.

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said: 'The rock wall below was gone, which served as the foundation of the road. So, there was clearly a road slip, there was scouring—meaning, the soil underneath the road was eaten away.'

Marcos Highway and Naguilian Road now serve as alternative routes to the city. However, travel continues to be risky due to landslides.

The Philippines and neighbouring Southeast Asian countries are entering their annual monsoon season, marked by soaring temperatures followed by intense rainstorms.
