The fire, which began Sunday near the village of Kahyalar in the province’s central district, has been fueled by strong winds, hindering containment efforts. Firefighting operations by air and land remain ongoing. In a statement, the Karabük Governor’s Office said the response has involved four helicopters, 174 vehicles, and 481 personnel since the onset of the blaze. Karabük Governor Mustafa Yavuz said all relevant state institutions are actively working in the field to ensure residents’ safety and bring the fire under control as quickly as possible. Türkiye is battling multiple wildfires across the country with more than 5,000 personnel, over 100 aircraft, and thousands of ground vehicles deployed to contain the blazes, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said Sunday.
