Türkiye: Drone footage shows raging wildfire as massive blaze in northwestern Türkiye enters fourth day
SHOTLIST: BURSA, TÜRKİYE (JULY 29, 2025) (ANADOLU - ACCESS ALL) 1. VARIOUS DRONE SHOTS OF FLAMES AND SMOKES RISING FROM BURNT FOREST AREA (NIGHT SHOTS)BURSA, TÜRKİYE - JULY 29: A large-scale forest fire in Türkiye’s northwestern province of Bursa entered its fourth day on Tuesday, July 29, as flames and thick smoke continued to engulf the hills between Orhaneli and Harmancık districts, according to local authorities. The fire, which began on July 26 in the wooded area near Yakuplar neighborhood in Orhaneli, spread rapidly toward Harmancık due to strong winds, prompting precautionary evacuations in multiple villages. Dramatic drone footage showed smoke billowing over forested terrain as emergency crews worked around the clock. Overnight, the fire intensified between the neighborhoods of Cakmak and Camoglu, with smoke severely limiting visibility. Crews managed to prevent the blaze from cutting off the road linking the two areas. At dawn, firefighting aircraft and helicopters resumed water drops to assist teams on the ground. Local residents also took part in the effort, delivering water tanks by tractor. As a safety measure, authorities ordered the evacuation of several villages at risk. Meanwhile, officials confirmed that one suspect, identified as Ufuk A., has been detained in connection with the blaze. Firefighting operations involving aerial and ground units are ongoing.
