This is the dramatic moment floodwaters breached a phone shop after heavy rains caused widespread flooding in Myanmar.

Reports said muddy waters entered the store when a military vehicle sped along Bogyoke Road in Tachileik on July 28.

Footage shows the interior already flooded when a sudden surge of water rushed in as the entrance opened, knocking over a showcase cabinet.

Another clip captures the vehicle speeding through the deluge, creating large waves on the heavily flooded road.

Local media reported that continuous heavy rain since the night of July 21, worsened by Typhoon Wipha, has led to widespread flooding in low-lying areas of Tachileik Township, Eastern Shan State.

The floods were caused by persistent rainfall, rising water levels in the Mae Sai River, and runoff from the surrounding mountains.

The affected locations include Poon Htun, Tar Lot, Maka Ho Kham, Wang Kaung, and San Sai (A and B) wards, along with major thoroughfares such as Bogyoke Road and the city's circular road.
