Locals waded through flash floods caused by heavy torrential rains in Myanmar.

Footage shows a street in Tachileik heavily submerged, with residents cautiously making their way through the powerful floodwaters.

Local media reported that continuous heavy rain since the night of July 21, worsened by Typhoon Wipha, has led to widespread flooding in low-lying areas of Tachileik Township, Eastern Shan State.

The floods were caused by persistent rainfall, rising water levels in the Mae Sai River, and runoff from the surrounding mountains. The affected locations include Poon Htun, Tar Lot, Maka Ho Kham, Wang Kaung, and San Sai (A and B) wards, along with major thoroughfares such as Bogyoke Road and the city's circular road.
