At least 40 Palestinians, including 15 women and 12 children, were killed, and dozens more were injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip since early Tuesday, local medical sources reported.

The attacks are part of an ongoing Israeli military offensive that has continued for over 21 months, devastating the besieged enclave.

Medical sources told Anadolu that the death toll from an Israeli attack near a U.S.-backed aid distribution center in the Netzarim axis, central Gaza, rose from four to eight. The victims were reportedly waiting for humanitarian assistance when they were struck.

Earlier, Israeli bombardment targeted multiple homes in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least 30 Palestinians, including 14 women and 12 children, in what local sources described as a "bloody massacre."

Eyewitnesses said residential buildings belonging to the Nabhan, Siyam, and Abu Ataya families in the camp’s New Camp area were destroyed in the strikes.

In a particularly gruesome incident, rescue teams recovered the body of a fetus torn from its mother’s womb due to the force of the explosion.

In western Gaza City, a man and his wife were killed when an Israeli airstrike hit their apartment near the Haydar roundabout, with others wounded in the attack.

Overnight, the Israeli military intensified demolition operations, destroying homes and residential buildings in eastern Gaza and Khan Younis in the south.

At least 60,034 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

A ministry statement said that 113 bodies were brought to hospitals in the last 24 hours, while 637 people were injured, taking the number of injuries to 145,870 in the Israeli onslaught.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has waged a large-scale military campaign in Gaza with U.S. support, leading to widespread casualties, starvation, and mass displacement.
