Locals play in kayaks on flooded road in Thailand
This is the amusing moment locals were spotted playing in a kayak on a flooded road in Thailand.
Footage captured by Topfy shows a group of youngsters aboard two boats on a waterlogged motorway in Sukhothai province.
Two men can be seen paddling through the 3ft deep murky water, while another topless lad stands up in the kayak and swings his arms before losing balance on July 27.
He then plunges into the water, prompting laughter from his friends at the comical mishap.
Authorities said flooding in the province remained 'critical' as the Yom River water level continued to rise and spill into nearby communities.
Sukhothai governor Nopparit Sirikosol said he has ordered relevant agencies to carry out relief operations and strengthen flood defences.
Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season, which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rainstorms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
