Taxi passengers were seen holding a white panel out of the window of a moving car.

Footage shows two passengers gripping onto a white writable surface while the vehicle travelled along the outer lane of the highway in Sichuan, China, on July 24.

The large panel out of the window as the vehicle sped down the road, prompting alarmed motorists to keep their distance.

Several drivers were reportedly worried the object could slip from the passengers' grasp, potentially causing an accident or damaging nearby vehicles.

Under traffic laws, extending objects or body parts out of a moving vehicle is prohibited, as it may obstruct traffic, distract drivers, or cause accidents.

Authorities may impose fines or penalty points on drivers who allow such actions, especially on expressways where speeds are high and reaction time is reduced.
