US: Marina del Rey Under Tsunami Advisory, Residents Urged to Evacuate by Loudspeaker
The Tsunami Warning Center issued tsunami alerts for Hawaii, California and Alaska on Tuesday, July 29, following a magnitude 8.8 earthquake that struck off Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula.
In the Marina del Rey area of Los Angeles, the Sheriff's Department urged residents to evacuate using loudspeakers from a helicopter and a boat.
