This is the inspiring moment an airport ground crew member greeted passengers with a smile through the pouring rain.

The worker was seen collecting yellow umbrellas from travellers as they boarded a plane in Manila, the Philippines.

Footage captured by Jomarie Celetaria shows the staff member, wearing a reflective vest, standing outside the door of an Airbus A320 bound for Bohol at Ninoy Aquino International Airport on July 24.

Despite the downpour, the crew continued to warmly greet each passenger and neatly fold their umbrellas before stepping aside to allow them onto Cebu Pacific flight 5J 615.

The man could be seen soaking wet from the rain, yet beaming at the group as they boarded.

Jomarie said: 'We were waiting for our turn to get off the bus and I saw the crew smiling. It inspired me—despite the conditions of his work, he still had that smile and greeted the passengers. What a nice thing to witness.'

The Philippines and neighbouring Southeast Asian countries are entering their annual monsoon season, marked by soaring temperatures followed by intense rainstorms.
