US: Coast Guard Airlifts Injured Tanker Crew Member Off Galveston Coast
Galveston, United States - July 28, 2025 A U.S. Coast Guard air crew carried out a dramatic medical evacuation on July 28, 2025, hoisting an injured crew member from a tanker vessel offshore. Sector Houston-Galveston received a distress call around 3:40 p.m., reporting that one of the ship’s crew members had been hurt. Air Station Houston quickly dispatched a helicopter to the scene. The rescue crew successfully hoisted the injured individual aboard the aircraft. The operation was conducted over open waters off the coast of Galveston. No additional details about the nature of the injury or the condition of the crew member were released.
