Phoenix, United States - July 30, 2025 07/29/2025 10:22 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers were called to the westbound I-10 near the 67th Avenue exit ramp for a collision involving a motorcycle. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and transported at least one person in serious condition to the hospital, according to information gathered at the scene. DPS closed the westbound lanes of the I-10 and diverted all traffic onto the South Mountain Loop-202. As troopers were investigating the collision, a car drove through the closure and into the active scene with troopers still on the roadway. As a trooper in a patrol car attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the driver, the driver made an abrupt U-turn and began driving the wrong way on the interstate back towards the closure. Troopers quickly stopped the car, and the driver was detained and given a field sobriety test, the result of which is currently unknown.
