US, Phoenix: Phoenix Collision Involving Sanitation Truck Closes 43rd Avenue

Phoenix, United States - July 30, 2025 07/30/2025 12:20 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix police officers and the Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a collision requiring extrication near the 4500 block of North 43rd Avenue at approximately 12:20 a.m. Crews arrived to find a collision involving two sedans and a sanitation truck at a bus stop. According to details gathered at the scene, the driver of a silver Buick rear-ended a sanitation truck that was stationary in the southbound 43rd Avenue curb lane. The driver of the sanitation truck was outside of his vehicle, pressure washing a Valley Metro bus stop at the time of the collision. The Buick struck the work truck and swerved across multiple lanes, striking a white Volkswagen. The Phoenix Fire Department transported at least one person to a local trauma center. The condition of the patient has yet to be confirmed. Phoenix police established a hard closure for 43rd Avenue while the crash was investigated. The closure spanned from Highland Avenue to Glenrosa Avenue.
