Sector Houston-Galveston received a distress call at around 3:40 pm on Monday, July 28, reporting that a crew member aboard the ship required urgent medical care.
A helicopter from Air Station Houston was promptly dispatched to the scene.
The rescue operation took place over open waters near Galveston.
Officials have not released further details regarding the nature of the injury or the condition of the crew member.
