Blue dye injected into single popcorn kernel and heated up using hair straighteners
This creative experiment shows an unusual way to make popcorn. Using a medical syringe, we carefully inject blue food dye into a single popcorn kernel. The goal is to see if the color will remain visible after popping. We place the dyed kernel into a small amount of oil and heat it with a hair straightener. As the heat builds up, the kernel pops open, revealing the result of the colorful experiment.
