This is the dramatic moment a massive python was pulled from the ceiling of a terrified family's house in Thailand.

The 12ft reticulated python had slithered into the property in the Santisuk housing estate in Lampang while hunting prey.

The homeowner said she heard strange rustling noises above and quickly alerted a local wildlife rescue team on July 28.

Snake wranglers arrived and spent ten tense minutes dismantling part of the ceiling to grab the serpent. They shook it loose as it tried to retreat back into the gap.

Footage shows the team grabbing the snake by its tail as it attempted to wriggle away.

After a brief struggle, they successfully secured the reptile and later released it into its natural habitat on the outskirts of the residential area.

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
