Underage revelers and illegal drugs were allegedly found at a male hostess club in Pattaya.

The female minors reportedly took methamphetamine while they were being entertained by rentable Laotian boys at the Diamond Club in the Thai 'Sin City'.

Police raided the venue early morning on Tuesday following complaints that the young gigolos were working without the correct paperwork required by foreign nationals.

Authorities said they scoured the area and stormed in when they identified 'young-looking' staff. They found dozens of customers drinking alcohol and dancing to music inside the dimly lit club. Several women were reportedly seen embracing male hosts.

Officers ordered a halt to the sleazy party and inspected the IDs of those inside.

Tharit Chancharoon, Bang Lamung deputy district chief for security affairs, said: 'We discovered five underage customers, one of whom was just 17, along with five Laotian hosts drinking with guests.

'Eight men and one woman tested positive for drugs. All nine drug users have been detained for rehabilitation while underage customers are being treated as witnesses.'

He added that the club staff could not produce a valid operating permit.

Officers said the owner will be charged with allowing underage customers to enter the establishment, employing illegal workers, operating an entertainment venue and selling alcohol without a license.

Tharit added that the district office will seek to shut down the club for five years.

Although Thailand is best known for its female strip clubs catering to Western tourists, there is an equally-seedy industry of 'boy bars' that are popular among Thai women of all ages - including female students and office workers.
