This is the dramatic moment a pensioner riding in a trailer was knocked to the ground by a rogue car park barrier.

CCTV footage shows an elderly man manoeuvring out of a parking area with his wife sitting behind him in Henan, China.

The boom gate can be seen closing as the man accelerated the vehicle on July 29.

As the barrier dropped, the man ducked to avoid a collision, but it accidentally struck the elderly woman in the cargo bed.

The impact caused the pensioner to fall headfirst to the ground, while her husband immediately stopped the vehicle and stepped out.

He then rushed to help her up as the barrier, which had been knocked up by the incident, closed again.

The elderly passenger reportedly did not sustain any injuries.
