HEBRON, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - AUGUST 1: A group of Israeli settlers set fire to vehicles belonging to pro-Palestinian activists in Susya village, located in the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, on Friday, August 1.
Footage from the scene showed the charred remains of vehicles surrounded by Israeli police units.
The attack targeted activists who were present in the area to support Palestinian residents facing land appropriation and displacement.
The incident occurred amid ongoing tensions surrounding settlement activity in the region.
Since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, at least 1,009 Palestinians have been killed and more than 7,000 injured in the West Bank by Israeli forces and illegal settlers, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
