Bakersfield, United States - August 01, 2025 08/01/2025 12:51 am GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a reported officer-involved shooting early in the morning near North Chester Avenue and Ferguson Avenue. The incident, which occurred around 12:51 a.m., was later determined to be a non-officer-involved shooting. Initial reports indicated no deputies discharged their weapons. One man was taken into custody with what appeared to be a gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital in unknown condition. A second man was also seen detained by deputies. Several suspects remain outstanding, according to early information from the scene. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol, and Kern County Fire Department responded to the incident.
