This is the moment a person was seen paddleboarding off the coast of Oʻahu, Hawaii.

A video filmed from Waikiki on Tuesday (July 29) shows what appears to be a person paddleboarding just 40 minutes before residents were told to prepare for a tsunami wave.

Tsunami alerts were issued for parts of Russia, Japan, Alaska, Hawaii and the U.S. West Coast after a powerful earthquake struck off Russia's Far Eastern Kamchatka Peninsula.

Hawaii was initially under a tsunami warning, which was later downgraded to an advisory as data confirmed that major destructive waves were not expected.

Waves of around 4 feet hit Oʻahu, Maui experienced waves over 5 feet and Hilo also saw waves around 4.5 feet.

No major damage or casualties were reported.
