ADANA, TÜRKİYE - AUGUST 2: Two people were seriously injured Friday evening, Aug. 1, when an ultralight training aircraft crashed into a citrus grove during a flight in Türkiye's southern Adana province.

The aircraft, operated by a private aviation company at Kelaynak Airstrip, was carrying pilot Burak Yurekli, 39, and passenger Seyda Dogan.

The crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. during the landing phase of the flight in the Ozler neighborhood of the Yuregir district.

According to mobile phone footage, the aircraft was descending toward the runway when it suddenly went down into a nearby grove. The video also captured a man on the ground using a radio to propose to Dogan mid-flight. She responded “Yes” moments before the crash.

Both Yurekli and Dogan sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital, authorities said.

The local gendarmerie has launched an investigation into the incident.
