The Pontiff arrived by helicopter around 7:30 a.m. and made an extended tour in the Popemobile to greet the gathered youth, many of whom had camped overnight after taking part in the vigil on August 2. Addressing the crowd at the end of the service, Pope Leo XIV spoke in English, expressing solidarity with young people of Gaza, Ukraine, and those of every land suffering from the consequences of war and violence. “We are with the young people of Gaza, we are with the young people of Ukraine, and with those of every land bloodied by war,” the Pope said. The Pope also invited young people from around the world to the next World Youth Day, which will be held in Seoul, South Korea, from August 3 to 8, 2027.
