Over 130 Targets Struck in Gaza as IDF Deepens Operations Against Hamas
Gaza Over the weekend, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) intensified their campaign across the Gaza Strip, targeting and dismantling key elements of Hamas' military infrastructure. According to the IDF, more than 130 terrorist targets were struck as operations continued under the direction of Southern Command, with intelligence support from the Shin Bet and Military Intelligence Directorate. On July 24, 2025, Israeli forces eliminated Salah al-Din Zagharah, the deputy commander of Hamas’ Al-Furqan Battalion. Zagharah previously led the battalion’s combat support unit and was directly involved in orchestrating attacks against Israeli civilians and military personnel. In central and northern Gaza, Division 99 combat teams focused on locating and destroying above- and below-ground terror infrastructure. During these operations, the Nahal Brigade engaged and neutralized several militants using precision shelling. Simultaneously, Division 162 conducted operations in northern Gaza, where the 401st Brigade identified four Hamas operatives near their zone of activity. Aerial units were directed to the location and successfully eliminated the threat. In southern Gaza, forces from Division 143 and Division 36 continued ground and aerial strikes. These units targeted underground tunnels and buildings used by militants and for storing weaponry. The IDF affirms that these operations aim to degrade Hamas’ military capabilities and ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.
