On July 31, Nanning, Guangxi, was hit by severe convective weather, with localised heavy rain and strong winds. The Nanning Meteorological Observatory issued an orange rainstorm warning that day, alerting residents to the risks of lightning, short-term high winds, mountain floods, geological disasters, and urban water logging.

Amid these harsh weather conditions, an electric scooter rider waiting at a traffic light was unfortunately struck and knocked over by a sheet of metal blown in by strong wind.

Thanks to wearing a helmet, the rider sustained no major injuries despite the impact to the head. A few seconds later, he got up on his own, lifted the fallen scooter, and continued on his way.
