Of all the jobs he could give me! Patient cat serves as stand for toy mice on market stall
This cat looked cheesed off with a job helping its owner - serving as a stand for toy mice at a market stall instead of chasing them.
Ade Setiawan and her friend Debby were about to go home when they passed by a street vendor on the walkway near Sudirman Station in Central Jakarta, Indonesia.
At first, they thought the cat was a toy too, prompting them to curiously approach the seller for a closer look—only to find out it was a real moggy.
Footage shows the furry creature lounging beside the man, with three toy mice placed on its back and head on July 30.
The vendor then moved the cat's tail, making it gently swing, which startled some passersby.
He also spun a little notch on one of the wind-up toys and placed it on the ground, letting it scuttle around and bump into the unfazed feline.
The visibly uninterested cat could only stare at Debby, as if begging to be rescued from its monotonous job as a living display stand.
The cat, naturally born to hunt mice, was forced to sit still and ignore them - perhaps fearing it would not be fed if it dared to ruin its owner's gimmick.
Ade said: 'We were so surprised when we discovered that it was a real cat. It was so calm and didn't really move the entire time.'
