Roughly 80 to 90 kilometers (50 to 56 miles) off Egypt’s coast and accessible only by liveaboard dive boats, the remote reef offers multi-day excursions that include overnight stays at sea.
At its center stands a functioning lighthouse, originally built by the British in 1863 and restored in 1931, serving as both a navigational aid and a historical landmark.
Famous for sightings of hammerhead sharks, Daedalus Reef also teems with marine life, including clownfish, moray eels, tuna, manta rays and vibrant coral formations — offering divers an unforgettable underwater experience.
