This is the shocking moment flat-pack furniture flew off a trailer and hit a car behind.

Dashcam footage shows the vehicle hauling a small flatbed container carrying wooden boards on a highway in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

The item can be seen flipping through the air toward the vehicle behind on July 12.

It then crashed down in front of the four-wheeler and bounced back up into the air after the impact.

The stunned driver immediately veered out of the middle of the motorway and parked on the roadside to check for damages.

Local media reported that the driver of the trailer initially left the scene but later returned to retrieve the object.

No injuries or vehicle damage were reported from the incident.
