Mum names twins after TV shows - including Gilmore Girls
A couple named their twins after their favourite TV shows - Gilmore Girls and Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House.
Jade Miller, 26, said Gilmore Girls has always been her "comfort show" and she'd always loved the name Lorelai. "
So when she found out she was expecting twin girls in January 2025 she made a case for the name with her husband Callum Miller, 28.
The window installer agreed if he could name the second twin Theodora - from his favourite show The Haunting of Hill House.
Born on July 18, 2025, the parents say Lorelai and Theodora couldn't suit their names more.
Jade, who runs a domestic cleaning business, from the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, said: ""I knew all along twin A was Lorelai and twin B was Theodora."
"Twin A was giving Lorelai energy - hectic. I felt her more than Theodora."
"Theodora is so dainty and a little baby."
"Lorelai has a massive head of hair. Dark hair - it's a perfect match."
Jade - who has an older son, Jude, two, - said his name was inspired by actor Jude Law and footballer Jude Bellingham.
Jade said: "I have always loved Jude Law and thought it was a nice name."
"Jude Bellingham came on the scene and became big in football and Callum said 'I quite like Jude actually'."
But when she fell pregnant again Jade has a feeling she was expecting twins.
She said: "All my life I've always thought I'm going to have twins. It was an intuition thing."
"When I fell pregnant I kept making jokes to Callum - 'there are two girls in there'."
"At the scan I looked at Callum and he said 'how did you know?'"
The couple started speaking about baby names early on.
Jade has loved the name Lorelai since she started watching Gilmore Girls eight years ago.
She said: "I was in a dark place. I was struggling to sleep."
"I needed a comfort show to fall asleep to."
"It's always on in my house."
"Something about the name Lorelai stood out to me."
Callum wasn't sure on the name and had always loved the name Theodora which Jade wasn't so keen on.
She said: "When we watched The Haunting of Hill House together he said 'god I love that name."
"I remember saying 'you just fancy the character'."
But the pair came to agree that they could each get their chosen name - and the twins are now nicknamed Rory and Dory.
Born on July 18, Lorelai weighing 7lbs 1oz and Theodora weighing 5lbs 13oz, the twins are now "settled"."
Now 17 days old the parents say they suit their names and get positive reactions to how "unique" they are."
Jade said: "Lorelai has me in stitches. I know she's going to be hilarious."
"Theodora has this side eye - I think 'you're going to be trouble'."
