VARIOUS OF PALESTINIANS, WALKING AMONG RUBBLE OF DESTROYED BUILDINGS, SEARCHING FOR USABLE ITEMS GAZA, PALESTINE - AUG. 6: The Israeli army carried out an air attack on a health facility belonging to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in the northern Gaza Strip, on Wednesday (Aug. 6). The UNRWA building and its surroundings, located in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood and sheltering displaced Palestinians, were heavily damaged due to the attack. The Israeli army, rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, has pursued a brutal offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, killing more than 61,000 Palestinians, almost half of them women and children. Israel’s military campaign has devastated the enclave and brought it to the verge of famine. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
