This is the moment groups of pensioners filled a McDonald's in China to play card games.

Customers have been complaining about elderly patrons occupying tables for hours, playing blackjack and chess among other games inside the restaurant, leaving little space for other diners to sit and enjoy their meals.

Footage shows senior citizens shuffling cards without appearing to have ordered any food or drinks on July 17.

They can be seen dropping cards on the tables and rearranging their decks, turning the restaurant into what resembles a backroom casino.

Others stood nearby, watching the ongoing betting games.

Mr Chu, a customer, said: 'Their gatherings have been going on for months. Every time I stop by on my way to work or home, I can barely find a place to sit and eat.

'These groups often occupy tables for long periods and speak loudly, which affects our dining experience. The staff also seem to have difficulty asking them to leave, and I believe the situation reflects poorly on the city's image.'

The McDonald's Shanghai branch has not yet released a statement regarding the complaints.
