Student climbs across building to retrieve key from locked dorm room
This is the nerve-wracking moment a student climbed across a building to retrieve a key from her locked dorm room.
Elly Hernandez and her roommate, Blesie, accidentally left their key inside their apartment when they hurried off to work in Manila, Philippines.
When they returned home, they realised they had forgotten the latchkey.
Unable to contact the landlord for a duplicate key, Elly decided to climb down from the third floor to access their balcony.
Heart-stopping footage shows her carefully moving along the edge of the railing and stepping on the windowsill while gripping pipelines protruding from the wall on May 26.
After a painstaking, parkour-like effort, she managed to step onto the balcony barrier.
In the video, she can be heard saying: 'Success! Survivor! Lord, thank you, Lord.'
The woman then jumped down and asked Blesie to throw her shoes over.
Elly said: 'When we got back that afternoon, we could've contacted the owner for a duplicate, but since they were quite far from the dorm and we were already exhausted from work, I decided to try getting in through the back door—which was left open earlier because of the morning rush.'
The students are currently completing their one-month on-the-job training at Swiss-Belhotel Blulane, a final requirement before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management.
